Voice |
Does it sound like you? |
Just like the voice you hear in music. How do you sound when your writing is read aloud? What are you saying?
The Voice is how you sound about what you are writing about. If you care about the topic, make your writing sound like it. The Voice lets the readers know a little about the author's personality. For example, a short story about your family should be written in a personal voice instead of a formal and distant voice. Just like how, a persuasive essay should sound more formal yet subjective. A newspaper article however, shouldn't be taking sides so should be more formal and objective. Here is a modified checklist to help you.
