All sentences have a flow and a rhythm. The word patterns in the sentences have a sound that can be heard when read aloud. These word patterns can be pleasing or distracting. Good sentences are musical and keep the reader's interest.
Changing the sentence starters, the length of the sentences and the transition words helps to create better sentence fluency.
How can you tell if your sentences have good fluencey? Read them aloud. Are there any awkward pauses that slow the reader down? Do you want to keep reading? Do you get tripped up on the words?
